Guided paddle on the Lackawaxen River, including presentations from Wayne County Historical Society, Wayne Conservation District

Itinerary

8:00 – 9:00 AM Registration
9:15 AM Shuttle to start
10:30 AM Sojourn Launch – Paddle from Sycamore Point to White Mills River Access (approx. 6 miles)
12:00 – 2:00 PM Lunch and Presentations at White Mills River Access
2:00 Resume Paddle
4:00 – 4:30 PM End at Bingham Park River Access
5:30 PM Optional Dinner at Grant’s Wood at Settler’s Inn, 4 Main Ave. Hawley, PA (Across Street from Bingham Park)
6:30 PM Evening Presentation by Wayne County Historical Society at Settler’s Inn

Walk-on registration (day of event) must arrive as early as possible to guarantee admittance. Email or call ahead to confirm space is available.

Pre-registration is highly recommended. Space is limited.

This Event Is In September, water and air temperatures may be cold dress, plan and pack accordingly

Special requirements

Any special dietary needs or special accommodations must be emailed and approved at least one week before the event.

Restrictions

  • REGISTRANTS WILL SIGN WAIVERS AND RELEASES AT REGISTRATION ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT
  • REGISTRANT MUST BE 18 OR OLDER, OR HAVE PARENT/GUARDIAN PERMISSION AND SIGNATURE
    12 AND OLDER MAY PADDLE ALONE, UNDER 12 MUST BE IN A TANDEM WITH AN ADULT
  • NO PARTICIPANTS UNDER 50 LBS
  • NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES PERMITTED ON ANY STATE, COUNTY, OR MUNICIPAL PROPERTIES
  • NO GLASS ON THE RIVER
  • PFD’S MUST BE WORN ON, IN , OR NEAR THE WATER. TYPE III MINIMUM
  • NO INFLATABLE PFD’S

Disclaimers

This event is a rain or shine event; cancellation will be at the discretion of the organizers

If the river height is not adequate, it will be relocated to the Delaware River

There will be a $50.00 fee on all cancellations between the time registration opens and 30 days prior to the start of the Lackawaxen River Sojourn.

Cancellations between 30 days until 10 days before the start of the Delaware River Sojourn are subject to a $50.00 per person per day cancellation fee.

Cancellations made less than 10 days before the start of the Lackawaxen River Sojourn are non-refundable.

These fees are necessary to cover registration expenses due to cancellations.
